Volunteer Service

Serving Others with the Love of Christ

Over the past 9 years, the Central Florida community has participated in events led by Circle Christian School volunteer students, who have hearts for service. Beginning in 2012 with a wild idea to raise $5,000 to benefit the Russell Home for Atypical Children and Adults and to be a small part of the rebuilding of the original home, Circle students decided to plan a 5K and Fun Run. God blessed the event and continues to do so.

With community sponsorships, 5K’s, and fun runs, a total of just over $150,000 has been raised since 2012 by the student volunteers, some of whom have graduated but still return to assist. Hurricane Matthew in 2016 caused a small hiccup and Covid 19 stopped the 2020 event in its tracks, but one thing the students have learned is that life is full of challenges. Instead of using Covid as an excuse to take another year off, they went back to “THE WHY.” WHY did students begin planning this event years prior, and WHY was it still important in 2021?

The Great Movie Run was organized by upper school students for lower school students, providing them an awesome event that would still benefit The Russell Home. This event has built an opportunity for mentoring our younger students, while benefiting a worthy cause.

The 9th Annual Run for the Russell Home is scheduled for April 2, 2022.
