Track Athletes Compete at State Championships

The Circle Track & Field season officially drew to a close with the State Championships on May 4-5 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. The Girls Team finished in 10th place with 21 points behind the strong showing of distance runners Sinkenesh Parker and Brooke McEwen. The Top 8 in each Event are considered All-State making it to the Medal Podium. 

Parker would be the team’s highest scorer finishing 2nd in the 3200m Run (11:25) and 4th in the 1600m Run (5:18). In the same events, McEwen would finish close behind finishing 4th (11:30) in the 3200m Run and 7th in the 1600m Run (5:20). Anthony Cota would be the boys highest finisher taking 7th place in the Pole Vault with a personal best jump of 13’4”. The final All-State scorers would include the 4 x 800m Relay team of Archike Parker, Kelly Gregory, Caroline Spivey, and Elysse Carrillo would take 8th place running a season best 10:05. Additionally, the 4 x 800m Relay Team of Noah Mitchell (2:09), Alex Haak (2:17), Josh Workowski (2:09), and Ranger Whaley (2:07) ran their fastest relay time of the season finishing 20th in 8:42.
