Boys Soccer – 1-7-18

Recaps below are from the weeks of December 11, and December 18

Tuesday afternoon the Circle Men’s Soccer Team put together an impressive 7-0 win against Central Florida Christian Academy.  Fluid movements and being in constant control of the midfield were the key factors in the victory.  Goals scored by Jordan Rodriguez (2), Andres Melich, Rich Street, Cameron Kistner, Joseph Street, and Hunter Wilson.

Thursday, under the lights, Circle put together their most complete game of the season against district foe and perennial powerhouse Geneva.  Circle was organized defensively and ruthless on the counter attack. An early first half goal from a clinical header in the box by senior forward Jordan Rodriguez proved to be the game winner as the Centurions held the slim 1-0 lead for the next seventy minutes.

Monday evening the Circle Men’s Soccer Team held off a scrappy non-conference Crooms team for a 2-1 victory, their third in a row.  Goals from senior Jordan Rodriguez and sophomore Rich Street.

Thursday evening the team was away at Orlando Christian Prep for their final district game of the season.  Circle had many chances on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net until late in the first half when senior Aspen Hammontree burst through the back line of OCP and slotted the ball into the corner.  The Centurions added three more in the second half, two more from Hammontree to complete his hat trick, and one from 8th grader Andres Melich.  The game ended 4-0.  Circle heads into the Christmas break on a 4 game win streak.
