The night began with the honoring of the Boys and Girls Tennis Teams with their first District Championship Title in school history as well as honoring longtime tennis coach Tony Domenech for his 17 years of service coaching at Circle Christian School. Overall, 58 athletes from 8 sports were awarded the Total Release, Mighty In Spirit, Coach’s Choice, and Man/Lady of Valor Awards. The Most Outstanding Male and Female Athletes of the year were awarded to sophomore Canon Claycomb from the Boys Golf Team and Freshman Sinkenesh Parker from the Girls Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Both were honored, in part, by their outstanding performances through the FHSAA State Series competitions.
The night was capped off by the awarding of the Male and Female Centurion of the Year. The female nominees included Elise Chambers, Julie Meritt, Esther Sheldon, Rachel Silverman, and Danna Taylor while the male nominees included Ryan Bare, Daniel Core, Aspen Hammontree, Eugene Hong, Camp Priest, and Patrick Simmonds. The award goes to a top Senior athlete who best exemplifies a commitment to Christ-like character on and off the field of competition. The well deserved 2017-18 winners were Julie Meritt and Patrick Simmonds. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes and to all the teams and athletes who were a part of Circles most successful athletic year in history with 6 District Team Championship Titles, 3 Regional Team Championship Titles, and 2 State Team Championship Titles.
