On Friday night the 20th graduating class in Circle’s history enjoyed a great commencement ceremony. The commencement of a homeschooling student not only celebrates the student’s accomplishments but also honors the parents and the lifestyle commitment they have made to their family. Honor is bestowed on parents for their tireless devotion, unselfish use of time, and dedication to the family.
The decision to homeschool has the potential to change a person, a family, and even a legacy. A common theme expressed by parents of graduates each year is how quickly the school years pass. The decision to homeschool will ALWAYS be considered a “turning point” or a “stake in the ground” in the parenting story.
If you feel that TODAY is impossible, turn your attention away from the immediate circumstances. When the pressures of the present become overwhelming, reflect on the future and the finish line. What do you want your children to say about you at the end of their teenage years? What relationships will you enjoy with others as your children move to a new season of life? Will you find your satisfaction in knowing that you have truly devoted yourself to making God and HIS glory the central focus of your life and in the lives of your children?
If you are a mother of young children, there may be many days ahead you will question how you will make it. If you are a mom finishing up with your teenagers, you may wonder where all of the time has gone. Enjoy the moment and thank God for the precious lives that you have been given to UNIQUELY influence for His glory.
Have an AWESOME week!
