Rooted in truth, Refreshed in community, Growing together

The Story of Rooted

In April 2017, Linda Werner—Co-founder and Dreamer at Circle Christian School and founder of Legacy Principles—had a vision to create a winsome environment that would bring people together to learn, connect, and grow.

As a mentor to women and leader in alternative education since 1983, Linda has seen the power of fellowship. By creating a likeminded community, we truly understand what CS Lewis meant when he said, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” One way to do this is by having one instruct on a topic and participants continue in conversation afterwards. This model encourages the greatest growth communally and personally. It leads to fruitful lives and gives opportunities to ask questions about decisions from someone who has gone before.

Rooted is a refreshing community built on learning Biblical Truth in order to grow in due season. We must be taught, and from that teaching, be encouraged and inspired in order to continue on the path that God has for us.  Growth takes time.  It is a process.  It happens by daily attending to what is important.  Every person who enters into this new learning community will be encouraged not just to attend one event, but to fully and wholeheartedly see that growth takes time and many encounters and will come in due season.

Rooted offers different learning environments tailored to specific topics and audiences. Linda’s vision for Rooted is that this will become a place that is known not only for life-changing learning, but also for new friendships that will last a lifetime.

Jump into Summer!

Jump into Summer: Promoting Learning While Still Having Fun

Have you ever heard of the “summer slide”?  Most students lose part of the year’s learning during the summer months, and parents have to spend time making that up at the onset of the new school year.  Not only is this preventable, but we will show you that students can actually continue to grow academically with the right activities and still have a fun summer break.  We’ll also talk about planning with an irregular schedule and maintaining discipline in the midst of summer commotion.

In this workshop, parents will learn to determine how their children learn best in order to utilize the appropriate curriculum options.  We will offer suggestions for parent-led curriculum in the primary subjects:  language arts, math, science, history, and Bible.  We will also talk about using NWEA results to inform instruction. Rooted in Truth

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NJKV)

Refreshed in Community

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-21 (NKJV)

Growing Together

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers

Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)
