E-Learning

What is the Circle eLearning Campus?

Circle Christian School has invested in creating a new tool to extend and enhance the educational opportunities for students, parents and teachers. This new tool will offer a relevant technology-rich environment that allows students to access documents and engage in discussions outside of the classroom. Circle’s eLearning Campus is an online course management site containing course pages for all of Circle’s courses.  This is a place for communication and extended learning for students and teachers.  Parents are encouraged to come alongside their child as they access and explore the learning extensions offered on this site.

What is Moodle?

Moodle is the name of the software we use on the CCS eLearning Campus. This is a powerful tool used to create online learning courses. Moodle is the software, and CCS eLearning Campus is our website. This year Circle is extending all the course offerings to the eLearning Campus building a “blended classroom” of traditional and online learning for each course. This blended classroom goes beyond a typical webpage. These courses do not replace the classroom teaching at Circle, nor does it replace the parent’s directed teaching. These blended classrooms extend the learning and teaching opportunities of the physical classroom to include graphics, video, websites, directed conversations, peer discussions, assignment submissions and even an educational game or two.  We are excited about providing technology-rich relevant educational opportunities for your student.

How do we use the CCS eLearning Campus?

The CCS eLearning Campus was built with your student in mind. Each student is provided a user account and password. Students are enrolled in the blended classroom or course page that coincides with their physical classroom enrollments at your CCS Campus.  We want to encourage parents to login with their students to see what they are learning and to provide further guidance.  However, in an effort to adhere to strict privacy laws, parents may not post to any forum or any course page using a student’s user account.  If you are interested in obtaining a parent account to oversee your student’s activities and records for the eLearning Campus site, please submit your request for a “parent login” via email to the eLearning Campus Administrator.

Students will need to login and access the course pages for each of their courses each week. Teachers have prepared weekly modules that coincide with that week’s classroom instruction.  These weekly modules can contain but are not limited to support documents, graphics, video, websites, directed conversations, peer discussions, assignment submissions educational games and even virtual field trips.

Can I have a parent login for all my students?

The CCS eLearning Campus was designed with students in mind. Allowing our students to submit assignments, communicate with fellow classmates and teachers and access resources that extend their physical classroom. Accounts are designed for student use. K-6 students will access with their parents through their student login. Students in grade 7-12 will login and “attend” their blended classroom taking responsibility for their comments and actions the same as if they were in a physical classroom on the CCS Campus sites. Some parents may desire to control the password and will log into the system with the student, other parents may desire a parent login to oversee their student’s activities.  Whichever approach a family takes, we encourage parents to be involved in the experience with the student.

To request a parent login please submit your request for a “parent login” via email to the eLearning Campus Administrator.
