NOTE DATE CHANGE: Saturday, January 27, 2018
Due to the extensive damage at Cypress Grove Park the 6th Annual Run for the Russell Home will now take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018. The location and all festivities scheduled for the event will remain the same. Registration is open now for the 5K and the Balloon Run. The deadline to register for the 5K will remain open until January 20th. The first 300 to register will receive a run shirt and a back pack.
We believe God has a plan for all things; and this date allows even more Circle families to be able to attend and gives us more time to invite more of the community to come see what your school can do to make a difference in the lives of His special children.
It seems like only yesterday that a handful of students and I had the “crazy” idea of helping build a home. Usually that type of venture takes expertise, which we didn’t have, but we did have FAITH and PRAYER.
Throughout the Bible we see that God heard and answered prayer. Joshua prayed for the sun to stand still. It did. We have learned that the faith of a mustard seed could move mountains. We didn’t need to move a mountain, just help build a home.
Six years is a long time to commit to something, but that is what our student volunteers and families have done in support of The Russell Home for Atypical Children. Even students who have graduated from Circle are still a large part of this annual event.
The 6th Annual Run for the Russell Home will take place at Cypress Grove Park on Saturday, January 27, 2018. The day will begin at 8:00 am with an official 5K for runners or walkers, followed by a Kids Balloon Run and an old fashion fall festival with games, food and bounce houses.
You can register to run by going to runfortherussellhome.com. For Circle Christian 5K participants, use the coupon code CCSRUNNER to receive a discount.
We are in need of $5.00 gift cards as prizes and 40 volunteers the day of the event. Please email Mrs. Stella at email@example.com for more information or to volunteer.
Half the home is complete, and we now see new bedrooms filled with additional children, all because of a blended community of Circle Christian School families and local businesses of Central Florida who have the same desire to help this very worthy organization.
God continues to answer prayers.
