Technology and Learning

Imagine for a moment that instruction and learning were no longer confined to the classroom guided by a teacher.  What would that look like?  As homeschooling families we often approach learning in non-traditional ways. But what if the course your child is taking on campus was now extended well beyond the walls of that classroom.

Students in Circle’s World History Honors course are not bound by learning about the Palace at Versailles reading or looking at pictures of this magnificent  place, but rather are now privy to a virtual tour that they can explore at their own pace.  Likewise, students in General Science not only read about the DNA structure, but also watch a video on the structure of DNA.  And yet another course is offering reading quizzes online allowing class time to focus on learning not on assessment.  Can you see the opportunities that are given to ignite or sustain a passion for learning?

CCS has developed the eLearning Campus with one thing in mind…encouraging learning through technology.  We focus on teaching with technology not about technology.
